UPC and GTIN are part of the same global numbering system. UPC codes are a 12-digit form of GTIN, which stands for Global Trade Item Number. GTIN numbers also include EAN codes. When reference is made to GTIN numbers, this can include UPC codes, EAN codes, JAN codes and ISBN codes. If you have a GTIN, it may be one of these; if you specifically have a UPC already, that code is your product’s GTIN as well.
